Five Year Capital Campaign, beginning 2025
As we celebrate our 150th Anniversary in May of 2025, we are planting seeds of hope for our life together far into the future. We believe that Broad Street UMC is an anchor in our community, and the impact of our ministry, mission, and outreach and are important for the stability of our community and the spreading of God’s love, grace and hope to all who come to us for fellowship, nurture and justice.
We hope that Broad Street UMC will be here for another 150 years, and your legacy gift is something that can ensure our future ministry and mission here in the heart of the city. God is not finished with us in this place!
Campaign Goal 1: Capital improvements to the green stone church: Together, we’re working to care for our cherished historic building—not just for the urgent repairs we need now, but to ensure it stands strong and beautiful for generations to come. This is not just an investment in 501 East Broad Street, it’s staying on course to continue to do God’s work as the church in the heart of the city with the city in our hearts.
Campaign Goal 2: Ensure the permanence of funding: Year over year the members and friends of Broad Street give faithfully; exceeding the average giving habits of nearly every church our size and many larger congregations. We are grateful for the ability to take care of our current needs and we urgently seek to replenish our permanent endowment so that we can better weather an often unpredictable financial future.
Campaign Goal 3: Plan for the future through planned estate giving and bequests: Through education and planning sessions, we hope to help you have a conversation with your family and legal team about putting Broad Street UMC in your will and leaving a legacy for the next 150 years of ministry on the corner of Broad Street and Washington Ave.

Capital Improvement Needs for our 140 Year Old Building!
501 East Broad is a grand old building that has been a landmark in our neighborhood since it was built. Maintenance of a large building like this is never ending, and with weather, wear and tear, we are hoping to catch up with some of the deferred maintenance, and be prepared for future needs as well.
