SocksChristmas Sock Drive for Manna Café Guests

Sunday, November 19-Sunday, December 17

Christmas is coming!  And in Ohio, the Christmas and winter season means cold, snowy, wet weather.  Feet get cold, feet get wet, and many of our Manna Café guests need help keeping their feet warm and dry.

You can help provide a gift of new, warm, clean socks for our Manna Café guests this Christmas.  During the Advent season, the Outreach Committee will be collecting socks to be given on Wednesday, December 20 to our Manna Café guests.  A chest in the narthex will be available during Advent to receive the new, warm socks that you give as Christmas gifts .

We are hoping to collect 400 pairs of socks during the Advent season, so that each of our Manna Café guests will receive a gift of two pairs of new socks.  We are looking for new socks – all sizes – most for men, but we need women’s and children’s socks, too.  The socks should be heavier weight, warm socks to help keep feet protected from the winter.  We do not need dress socks.  We exceeded our goal last year, and we know we can do it again this year!

As you prepare your Christmas shopping list, consider adding a couple of pairs of socks to that list; participate in a simple yet powerful ministry of donating pairs and packages of socks to provide a resource to many in need!  If you have any questions, please contact Chris Clough at chris.clough@cigna.com.
