RMN Ministry at Broad Street UMC

At the corner of Broad & Washington Broad Street a congregation that works toward social justice for all joined the R.M.N.(Reconciling Ministries Network) on February 27th 2006.

Broad Street R.M.N. is a community committed to the justice of the Gospel. Our group is committed to making a church where everyone is welcome regardless of race, age, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, social or economic status, or physical or mental ability. Broad Street R.M.N. is committed to reconciliation that leads to the healing and transformation of animosity into honest relationships that respect all God’s children.

We aspire to fulfill our baptismal covenant to recognize and utilize our privileges to resist oppression in whatever form it presents itself in our church, and world.

We frame our work from the optic of justice, inclusion, and liberation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer persons. To sharpen that optic, we will apply an intersectional lens to focus on precise points of convergence between LGBTQ oppression other forms of oppression including racism, sexism, patriarchy, and gender inequality.
