Recovery groups, grief support groups, prayer fellowships, and share groups provide comfort and counsel. Broad Street’s Prayer Ministers offer prayer support and training for the congregation and its partner ministries.
Broad Street’s Prayer Ministry Team enters into covenant with one another and our congregation to:
- pray daily for the people and ministries of Broad Street United Methodist Church, as well as for other people and concerns submitted to the team for prayer;
- be available as needed for additional prayer ministry;
- honor all requests for confidentiality;
- participate in quarterly prayer-centered renewal activities.
Congregation members submit requests for prayer on cards placed in the offering plate during worship on Sunday mornings and by contacting the church office with requests during the week. These requests are passed along to the Prayer Ministers.
Each person submitting a request specifies if it is to remain confidential among the Prayer Ministry team. Otherwise, the request is printed in the prayer list distributed with the bulletin for our worship on Sunday.
You may make a request for our prayer ministers to include in their daily prayers for the week by completing the short prayer request form, below. Your request will be lifted in prayer to God daily by each member of our Prayer Ministry team.
The Shawl Ministry meets on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month at 9:30 am in the Library. Some of us knit and crochet together and others on their own. We bless the shawls and present them to our Pastor and Compassionate Care Ministry to be given to those in need of them: to celebrate, to console and to love. We welcome all who have an interest. We have knitting needles, crochet hooks and lots of donated yarn to help you learn if you are a novice.
